*Position Title: Equipment Operator – Auction Support**
**Job Summary:**
The Equipment Operator – Auction Support plays a crucial role in the seamless execution of auction
events by contributing to the setup, cleanup, loading, and unloading processes. This position requires a
skilled and safety-conscious individual capable of operating various types of equipment to ensure the
efficient flow of items through the auction process. While forklift and heavy equipment certification is
preferred, it is not mandatory, as on-the-job training may be provided.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Setup and Cleanup:**
– Assist in the setup and breakdown of auction events, ensuring all equipment is in working order.
– Collaborate with the auction team to organize and arrange items for display or bidding.
2. **Loading and Unloading:**
– Safely load customers’ purchased items onto their vehicles or designated transport.
– Unload items from trucks and shipping containers, adhering to safety protocols.
3. **Equipment Operation:**
– Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed for loading, unloading, and transportation
purposes.
– Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
4. **Safety Compliance:**
– Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating equipment and performing tasks.
– Promote a safety-first culture within the auction support team.
5. **Communication:**
– Collaborate with auction staff to coordinate the movement and placement of items.
– Communicate effectively with customers to provide assistance and address inquiries.
**Qualifications:**
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Forklift and/or heavy equipment certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain
certification through on-the-job training.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
**Physical Requirements:**
– Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to a specified weight limit “35lbs”).
– Stamina to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
– Comfort with working in various weather conditions as all tasks are conducted outdoors.
